Percent of long-stay residents whose need for help with daily activities has increased.
These quality measures are among the most reliable, but measuring quality is difficult because of the variation among nursing homes in the complexity of residents they care for. The reporting period for this measure is April to September 2012
Percentage of residents who:
- Self-report moderate to severe pain (short stay)
- Have pressure sores that are new or worsened
- Were given, appropriately, the seasonal influenza vaccine (short stay)
- Were given, appropriately, the pneumococcal vaccine
- Newly received an antipsychotic medication
- Needed increased help with daily activities (long stay)
- Self-report moderate to severe pain (long stay)
- Have pressure sores (long stay)
- Lose too much weight (long stay)
- Lose control of their bowels or bladder (long stay, low risk)
- Had a catheter inserted and left in their bladder (long stay)
- Had a urinary tract infection (long stay)
- Have depressive symptoms (long stay)
- Were physically restrained (long stay)
- Experienced one or more falls with major injury (long stay)
- Were given, appropriately, the seasonal influenza vaccine (long stay)
- Were given, appropriately, the pneumococcal vaccine (long stay)
- Received an antipsychotic medication (long stay)
